I was wondering then how come some 94-95 b16a dels come with the block b16a2's? just asking...are all 94-95 dels a3?

 

i believe a3 were from 94-95 which was obd1. a2 came on the 96-97 and were obd2. i could be wrong.

The 94-95 Del Sol VTEC has a USDM B16A3. There is actually no such thing as a B16A2... What people usually refer to when they say B16A2 is a 2nd gen JDM B16A. Both are OBD1 setups. The 1st gen JDM B16A is an OBD0.

You can not assume every 94-95 Del Sol has a B16A3. Some models came with SOHC.

99-00 civic SI (USDM, Canada = SiR) have B16a2

Well I ask the question because I have a b16a2 short block that came from a 94 del sol. the idiot went lsr and then went boom...My question if it indeed came from a 96-97 then wouldn't the block have the lower vin # by the oil pan?

Is there the 2 holes for it? Sorry about the mistake of not including that <U>USDM B series</U> in the list. Besides I thought we were talking about the Del Sol?

Del Sol VTEC models came with both B16A3 and B16A2 from 94-95 and 96-97 respectively as stated above.
