can JL 1000/1 amp power 2 JL 12W6 v2 's????
I have 2 JL audio 12W6 V2's in a box and each sub has its own connector. I was thinking of getting the JL audio 1000/1 amp. But I'm not completely sure how it would work. I assume there is only one set of outputs on that amp and I need to make it go to 2 different inputs for the subs. Would I be able to plug both subs into the same output on the amp? And would that divide the amps power in half so that each sub would get 500W.
Also, I am planning to buy a new deck, and I previously had a Pioneer that sounded really nice but it made the CD's get really hot. In some cases, ruining burned CD's that i had made. Is this common with other aftermarket decks? Is it because I used crappy quality CD's, or from the burning speed I used? I'm planning to get another pioneer deck and would hope to avoid ruining my burned CD's.

the amp doesn't care or can't tell what speakers are connected to it nor how many. it can only tell if it's at a stable impedance in ohms.
you will be able to power those 12w6v2 to their full output potential.
visit jlaudio.com. down the pdf on the subs and it will explain how to wire them in for series or parallel wiring.
As far as you old pioneer deck getting hot, if it is a cd receiver, it has an amp inside. the "high power" amp in the deck will produce a lot of heat under high volumes and it has to go somewhere.... is it normal.

Yeah in reality that is the perfect match of an amp to subs. A lot of people under power their subs but in this case that would do great. And their should be a paper that came with your subs that will show you how to wire two together. Now on your radio thats not supposed to happen. But with the pioneers they look at how flashy the radio is and not how it sounds. In my opinion look for a local Alpine dealer and do the home work on what you want as far as features and compare the two.

Well, the Pioneer I had before had a 13 band EQ. I plan on getting the Pioneer P9600mp and when I compared it to the Alpine CDA-9835 they seem pretty close.
They both have similar features except that the alpine only has a 5 band EQ. (which would probably be enough) However, the alpine is a little more powerful.
The FM sensitivity on the Alpine is 9.3 dBf and the pioneer is 8 dBf.
The Alpine has a CD signal-to-noise of 105 dB and the pioneer has 99 dB.
Other than European tuning for the Alpine and the Pioneer having 6 more presets, their specs seem pretty close. Since I've already owned a Pioneer and really like the sound quality I got from it, I figured I would get another. plus I like the design better.

I've also heard that i could use the JL 500/1 to power 2 12w6v2's. this would be cheaper but would it work just as good as the 1000/1?
