Snap ring on tranny

so i got all the bolts off. and im looking at the snap ring. WTF am i suppose to do with it? where does it expand to since its in a groove. and after this i just lift the housing off? thx!

Spread it apart until you hear the shaft drop inside. You will need the proper snap ring tool to do it.

oh it drops? and do i snap it back in place before i put teh housing back on?

look at what you are saying the person that said taht this tranny is a si tranny but its a 89 tranny DX im doing this **** to proveyour 100% wrong. teh funny thing is if this tranny was in your car you drove a fuckign Si with a Dx tranny. who is stupid now?
