Check Engine light...
I have a '98 Accord 4 cyl LX. Recently power washed the engine and when I was done, noticed that the "Check Engine" light was on and would not go off. In the 6 years I've had this car, this has only occured one other time when I didn't screw the gas cap on tight enough. I'm guessing since it started immediately after the wash, I probably shorted something out. Anyone else had this problem or anything similiar happen? Solutions?
never happen to me but your best be is to take it to like autozone or kragen and they plug in this device that gives you a code and tells you exactly whats up.
i say since u pressure washed it...maybe some moister got inside ur engine..making it missfire..causing it to throw a code..nothing to worry about...just clear it and maybe but some gas treatment that takes water out of ur gas...they sell it at auto part stores...try that...hope u cover the distributor when washing car..xpecially pressure washing it...that parts electrical..
Yeah go over to AutoZone and get it tested for free, you can spend money trying to guess but its a better idea to just find what's REALLY going on in the first place. That's what the codes are for anyway
