quick question dealing with leaking oil!
ok well i have an ls/vtec and it seems to be leaking oil from in between the block and the head. i didn't even think that is possible because it is in front of the engine. before i thought it was grease but when i changed oil, it only had about 3 quarts. and also when i checked it last night, it had a little of the new oil on the block. think i have a warped head? i don't have a blown head gasket because the radiator fluid isn't foamy. thanks again
from in front of the engine.. wow check your cam gears sometimes if the seals there go bad or rip then it leaks a good amount of oil from there and it runs along side of the head to the block and then runs to the middle of the block where it runs down from there.. just something to consider before you go taking the head apart like you said it doesnt seem like its the headgasket.. but who knows.
yeah i'll probably check that out because it is right under the power steering, i'm not sure if its the cam gear seals because the head is clean, it's just the block that is all greased/ oil up. i'm possibly assuming its a head gasket leak, oil level seems fine still but i just think it really leaks when i pound on it (vtec). i'm going to clean up the block with some degreaser today to see if i am actually having a oil leak. but my main assumption is a head gasket leak.
ok well i cleaned the block and it seems as chameleon is right. oil seems to drip down from the corner of the head down to the block. but i'll keep you guys updated
for the cam gear seals, is it part number 23 on this diagram?
