Default anyone frimilar with everything behind the dash in an EG (eh) Glovebox question.

Alright, a while back I swaped the ugly blue dash out for a nice black dash, My car is a 94 DX and i'm using a 93 Si dash. I was excited cause the 92-93 didn't have airbags and I didn't want them (I swear i'll shoot myself if anyone says anything about removing an airbag)

anyway, i'm just now getting around to putting hte glovebox back in the car after its been sitting in my room for a few months now. The problem is that the glove box won't close, I bolt/screw it in and it goes about 2/3 the way up and hits somthing in the dash, I can't really tell what its hitting.

so my question is whats different? between the 92-93 dash and behind it and the 94-95 dash and behind that....why won't the glovebox go in? I know i'm putting it in right, its just not closing.???

anyone else have this problem ever?

Gloveboxes for 94- on 5th gens were different because of the need for the glovebox to clear the passenger side airbag. You need to find yourself a glovebox from the same year as the dash you're using. That might be your problem.

yea this **** is really pissing me off, I just played with teh damn thing for about an hour and it won't go on....

if it was just a lil trimming here or there, fine, but I think its gonna need a lot more than that, i'll have to try and get ahold of another glove box. to put them side by side to see the differences

The slider thing that attatches on the side of the glovebox might be getting in the way, I had to break mine off

The left side of my glovebox was hitting the support for my passenger side airbag when i put a 92 dash in my 94. I had to trim the upper rear left corner of the box off to be able to shut it. hope this helps

i have a 94 glove box in my 93 dash. I had to use the shock thingy, the glove box, and the metal brakcet from the 94 dash to fit into my 93 dash, without the metal bracket behind the glove box from the 94 dash, the glove box wouldnt close right because it was like too high or something i forget why, but the metal bracket behind the glove box was my main problem. so make sure that matches with the year of dash your using the glove box from.
