which 2nd gear will work in my ys1 lsd?
just wondering if the ratios were the same for the ls 2nd gear and the ys1 were the same . i could just pull it out since i have the ls tranny already pulled apart. i have another cable tranny but its in my car now ,so i would have to drop it and pull the 2nd gear outta it to replace the other .

for you to change the 2nd gear, you'll need to change the mainshaft. 1/2 gears are build into the mainshsft, you can't take these off the mainshaft!

If the YS1 is an LS then you could use the mainshaft from a LS or GSR hydro tranny and if it is a YS1 Gsr tranny then you can use the mainshaft from a USDM type R or hydro B16 tranny.
the YS1(92-93 USDM GSR [B17] or JDM integra XSi) is the only CABLE tranny with gears you can swap directally into a hydro case. i know this for a fact, because i have YS1 gears in a hydro case, mated to my b16a2 in my car right now.
i would assume the reverse is correct.

The 92-93 LS cable tranny has the same first and second gear ratio as the USDM LS and Gsr hydro trannies. The 92-93 GSR is the same as a B16 first and second.
my tranny is a jdm ys1 with lsd . pulled it apart to swap in my ls 5th gear and found the 2nd gear messed up . if i can use the usdm 90 ls 2nd gear i have outta the same tranny i pulled the 5th out of it will make my job easier .

why would you want to do that, the car would loose its quickness in 1 and 2 gear! i can understand changing the 5th gear, i have done that on my ys1. but changing 1 & 2, instead of buying the parts to fix the problem would be the wise decision

jusr trying to get out any easier if i can . the only other spare i have is in my car now and i`ll have to drop my tranny now to get it out . i was hoping to get this over and done with so i can just drop the ys1 in and drive it to atlanta for a couple of weeks . im waiting till i get back to drop my new poormans in so i can tune it and not waste all that gas driving back and forth to atl. 12.5-1 comp poormans with the ys1 and alot of other goodies that i dont wanna talk about right now . nothing crazy just good tuning and high comp.
The USDM 90-91 integra LS S1 trannies are different internally than the 92-2001 B-series cable/hydro trannies. The main shaft and the 2nd gear on the countershaft isn't interchangable.
problem solved .it was the reverse gear , not the 2nd gear . ls 5th gear is swapped in now and im gonna drop it in later this week . also its a y1 lsd tranny not a ys1 .my bad

Good to hear you sorted that out. There is a huge difference between the small spline Y1 tranny compared to the large spline YS1. Y1's are know for having 2nd gear problems unfortunatly.
