i have a A1-1008284 tranny on my ls in my crx, idk what motor this is, anyone know? the tranny feels like a b16 or something, the gearing is short, i'm @ 4th gear 7k in less than a quarter mile...anyone know what tranny this is? thanks

A LS transmission would be well over 120 mph in 4th at 7000rpm.Sure its not a J1 or S1.

 

Mine in 5th gear
50mph = 2500
60mph = 3000
70mph = 3500
80mph = 4000

 

Is ur gear grinding in 3 gear? If ur gear r grinding in 3rd gear then u have an b16a tranny. My car kept grinding in 3rd gear. So i blew my cluth by shifting into 1st when i suppose be in 3rd gear in a high speed. Swopt out my cluth with a b18 ls which i have a 90 teg. It wont fit. So try a b16a clutch kits n slide right on. I like Ohh yea! Nice to have a b16 tranny hook onto an b18 engine.

anyway yes you have a b16 tranny because if your crx most likelly your cable tranny and cable b series trannies more than often are b16s and your short gearing in the 1/4 gives this away asap..and unlike this guy that sayd if it grinds its b16 wtf?? just because it grinds doesn mean that what it means is that someone messed up the 3 gear synchro..

the only reason most b16 trannys grind is because most b16 trannys are old and therefore have had more abuse on the synchros.. not because its shorter geared!!
