Default lsvtec will not start...

I just finished a lsvtec build I bin working on. Im using a 2000ls block with a 2000b16head im still running the ls ecu obd1. it cranks over and sounds like it wants to start but wont. It has spark and fuel and im still running the stock injectors. what can be the problem???

check, timing.valve timing i would check into and ignition timing

i had a similar problem my lsvtec won't start with my stock ls ecu but will start with my socketed p28 u do need a vtec ecu or at least a vafc to run vtec

I had a similar problem with my b20vtec setup. I don't know where you got your bottom end from, but when I got mine, it was built, but the rings were bad. I checked everything you did first too. Never thought it was the rings, but that turned out to be the problem for me. Hope this might help ya.

i had the same damn problem with my LS vtec.. when i got the pistons pressd on they pinched my ring groves cause the rings no to decompress so i couldnt get no compression at all... causing the motor to turn over but not start.
