REAR MOTOR MOUNT BRACKET BOLT STRIPED HOW BAD IS THAT????
Sup, the lower bolt that holds the rear motor mount bracket to the trans is stripped. It goes in fine until about half an inch left of thread, then it would just spin. The top bolt, bolts in fine and tight and I used extra lock tight on that b#$% cuz both bolts vibrated off before. How bad is it to have one of the two bolts stripped.
if you can run a chaser in the threads to clean them up and get a new bolt or use some washers and run it in as far as it will go ( not the best idea but....)
I spent hours grinding the nut off once and welded a new one on. Then i found out my mount was only 20$ at a local junkyard. That was pretty gay!! I would think if you retap then you would need to enlarge the whole hole goin through. Or is it not stripped that bad? If it's as smooth as the center then u might as well buy a used one. or replace the welded nut on the end
Well the two bolts are pretty long about 5 inches and also has a 1.5 inch shank on it. I was wondering can I just run a shorter bolt with no shank. Why are they called special bolts are they supppose to stretch?
