We appreciate your humbleness (screename: honda-newb. lol ). 11's isn't exactly "easy" or cheap with honda's. This could be done much more easily and cheaper with an ls1 powered car. nonetheless, honda's are fun and great cars to improve. A turbo setup would probably be your best balance between performance and value. I'm guessing you're looking for all motor power though. Start by telling some of your goals and what chassis and what the car will be used for.

Start exploring the hell out of the Forced induction and all motor forums. Stick with a light chassis. 1995 and earlier civics are lightest. B-series engines are like the 350's of the honda world. 11's will require at least 9000 invested. Look at the drag racing forum as well. OEM longblocks on boost seem to be very fast and fairly cheap. There are so many ways. definitely use the search function. https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch/

…and that gets him nowhere near the 11s. Define cheap. You are looking at LEAST 10K (if you happen to find a cheap civic hatch to build up) to run consistent 11s without blowing the thing up. Id make an LS/VTEC 2l monster. T3/T4 turbo running ~12PSI on the street and closer to 18 on race day, FMIC, 8.5:1 compression, forged internals, skirt and sleeves. Built axles, super hardcore clutch, perhaps a direct port 30 shot to help pre-spool when launching on slicks. Of course id use an LS tranny as well, because it works well with boost applications. Id have to install an LSD as well though, thats a must have here. Dont forget some super light weight rims, and ultra sticky tires with large sidewalls... all stuffed into a gutted 92 civic Si hatchback.

BTW, I dont think an 18 year old should be driving an 11 second anything.

buy a hatch or a crx something light throw an integra motor in and then turbo it. if its built correctly with good internals and if you pieced a good kit you should have around 400-500whp(around there maybe less for 11) which should be good for 10 or 11. if you want to go all motor its possible also but a lot more planing to get you into the 11's. you gotta understand 11 is is pretty f'in fast and hard to do whichever route you go your going to have to research and plan this **** out. if you want turbo if you want to stay all motor and then from there look at what you setup you want/need. how much power you want. plan the motor out is all im saying.

If you want a light car, crx hf 89-91. It's not the greatest looking honda but if your soul purpose is to beat your firends camaro then that would be your best chasis.
