Mugen ecu
I need to pick your brains on the value of a mugen ecu for a DC-2. Our ITR Rally car has been running on one for a while but the rules have now changed and we must run a stock ecu and an un modified harness, no piggy backs or anything ( which sucks ) so now we have this high $ ecu and can not use it.. Any ideas???
This Mugen ecu not the crap you find on e bay..

Thats a good point but for how much? I have never even seen another one.

As for year or years are unknown, the car was retired in 2000 and we brought it back out this year. The ecu looks like it just came out of the box ( which it did and we still have the box and all of that stuff ).
the owner never installed it and it just came with the whole car and spares package.
We run production class which is the slowest of them all the motor has to remain stock all the way to a paper air filter in a stock air box. the ecu was the only non stock idem.
At our last event with our stock car and a rookie driver we were 4th right in the middle of the open class ( which the sky is the limit on mods). Not bad at all... I sure am going to miss that damn thing.. The only thing i did not like is how hight the rev limiter got with it 9500 rpm is waaaayyy high for a stock motor.
Who ever buys this thing had better have some damn good springs..

Why? It's not like a set of brake pads. When's the last time you saw a "worn out" ecu?

I sold my Mugen ECU for $600 a few months ago. Mugen no longer makes it specifically for the DC2. Don't expect to get anywhere near the orig retail price. Too many chipped ecu's out there with the same program for way less.
My buyer appreciated the genuine article but those kind of buyers are hard to find. So expect to get between $400-600 for it or a trade of some sort.
Good luck!

Correct me if I'm wrong but the mugen ECU uses a faster board and not just a stock ecu board so having a Ebay "Mugen" program is not the same thing as the real deal. Also, anyone that has looked into the fake "Mugen" maps out there will know that it runs way too rich for anything other than extreme mods and the ignition timing is set to stock as well.
