Ok i just got new tires, got them balances car hasnt been aligned yet but when im in 3rd gear between 3-4000 rmps it feels like the whole front starts to shake, it also makes a noise... like a clicking noise when i shift, i need a new axel because the boot is starting to slip off, could it be that, any info would help its a 99 civic si

 

axles or wheel bearings. no doubt about it.

 

Yep- Clicking is bad! usually axles- but the vibrations are probably wheel bearings- they also make like a grinding metal on metal noise when the car moves

 

you can't make the assumption that vibrations are wheel bearings.
i mean, YES.. they CAN be, and they usually are bearing related.. but bad CV's also cause vibration. if you haven't noticed this, then work on more mid 80s accords. lol.

another thing overlooked that i have seen fail more than once... the halfshaft bearing. look at that too.

 

yeah, I've seen my share of int shaft bearings fail, giving a weird vibration at certain speeds also

My mechanic took the car for a drive and he thinks that they might have fucked up when i got my tires balanced, about a week ago, and then shortly after it started happeneing.. so i went back today and told them they need to redue it and there going to do it tomorrow, so well see. Keep you guys posted!

 

well they re balanced them, still fucked up, will replace the passenger axel so well see what happenes.....

 

Check the axles.
My axles got messed up after I tried to graft accord outer joints to my GSR inners
and my whole front end shakes really badly and sounds like metal grinding on metal
when accelerating. Good luck.
