Default HELP!Mini me problem:timing belt?

I just put a z6 head on a d15b2 block and the timing belt is now way too long

the belt part # is something like pm3-004) Its the original belt and the motor was running with the b2 head.

But now the belt won't even grab the cam gear and just skips...wtf

Am I supposed to use a diff belt?

Just drove the car before swapping the head so the tensioner and belt WERE working.

EDIT: I'm a retard and saw old info... helps if you acutally do it before you post on it. Sorry

For Mini Me's, get the same timing belt as the head that is used
For D15B SOHC VTEC's, use VX belt

You're supposed to use the VX belt on a 1.5 mini-me.

why does he say to use a z6 belt then?

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=554053

"IMPORTANT: Several places on the net and several people on Honda-Tech say that the VX (D15Z1) timing belt is the one to use for this swap because it is for a 1.5L VTEC. THIS IS INCORRECT! When I did the initial head swap, I used a VX timing belt. The VX timing belt was WAY too tight, and whined when the engine was at high rpm. I unfortunately did not discover this until the entire head was assembled. The VX timing belt has 103 teeth, where as the Z6 timing belt has 104 teeth, and the B7 belt 106 teeth. I was finally able to replace the VX timing belt with the Z6 timing belt, and the Z6 timing belt fit much better and didn’t whine. THE D16Z6 timing belt is the correct belt to use with a B7 block / Z6 head combination."

It's the number of teeth on the belt that matters. The VX and Z6 probably have the same tooth count = same belt.

Its too tight and will make whining noises..

I used to run a mini-me for a while and used the z6 belt.. Bauleycivic tried the vx belt and said its too tight..

I have a Z6/B2 mini-me and I tried the vx belt but it didn't fit. You have to use the belt that matches the head you are using. So in this case, a Z6 belt.

VX = 103 teeth
Z6 = 104 teeth
