im doing a D16Y8 head on a D15Z1 block conversion. i got the waterpump for the D15Z1 and now im trying to figure out what timing belt do i use. Do i use a D15Z1 belt or a D16Y8 belt. i need an answer quick. i also heard a Z6 belt would work too.

If that combo yields anything similar to a JDM d15b you could use a EG vx timing belt...

A d15b is basically a d15z1 bottom end with a d16z6 head... the d16y8 head is the newer equivalent to the z6 so the vx timing belt should work... That's what I have on my d15b.

The vx timing belt has 103 teeth by the way. Make sure you count the teeth to make sure you got the right one. I had a dealer try to tell me there was no such thing as a vx...

No prob! I went through this headache a couple years ago... Alas, the vx belt is in fact the correct belt for the d15b.
