93 LS... ignition timing problem
I failed smog last week mainly on ignition timing. Smog tech got me at 12 degrees instead of 14-18. I used http://www.c-speedracing.com/h...g.php for a reference on how to set timing. Ive followed the steps over and over again but keep coming up with the same problem. Heres the problem.
I do all the steps and set timing right at 16. I remove the jumper wire on the service connector and check timing again. Its back at 12 degrees again. Is there a reason why my motor likes to set itself at 12 degrees? Im not resetting the ecu or anything. Everything is fine until I remove the jumper wire then Im back to square one.
Anyone can help me out on this?
