Ques concerning wheel sizes and opinions for what I should do.
Hey guys,
After reading your rule to join the forum, I realized that you would probably be the most beneficial in helping me decide what I should do. My wife has a 2003 Accord EX V-6 Sedan (silver). I just put H&R Lowering springs (fr - 1.7 in. drop) (rr - 1.5 in. drop) on it, and have some Brembo crossdrilled and slotted rotors coming in tomorrow (with new Honda pads). It is now time to change the tires, and I want to upgrade the wheels too. I have decided to go with 18" because it is a good balance between looks and comfort. My question is:
Have any of you seen the AZA A1 wheels (hyper silver)... here is a picture of them:
http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/AZA/AZA.htm
Option 1:
My question is, do any of you know if the 9.5in wide rear would fit, and how do you guys think that would look? - 8.5 wide in front, 9.5 wide in rear?
Disadvantages - no rotating of tires,
possibly awkward looking, because it's a FWD car with larger rear tires
Advantages - Would look sinister with those deep dish wheels, rear shot would look mad with 9.5 in wide wheels...
Option 2:
The other option is to go with the same wheel but 8.5in all the way around.
Option 3:
Check out the Exel DL-46 HyperBlack:
http://www.wheelmax.com/Wheels/exel/exel.htm
The only disadvantage is that they only come in a 7.5 in wide wheel.
Thank you for your opinions and help. - NDeedOne

I don't think option 1 would look right. Personally I would keep all the wheels the same.
Option 2, whats the offset of the rims? You need to make sure the inside of the rims aren't going to hit the knuckle or anything and you also need to make sure the tire isn't going to hit the fender lip. If it does want to hit the fender lip, you could roll the lip to gain some clearance.
I would probably go with option 3. You are still going to want to make sure of the offset for the same reason as above but with 1" less width than option 2 you will have more forgiveness if the offset doesn't quite match your car. Meaning you'll have more clearance to clear the knuckle and the fender lip.

I have the 9.5" all the way around on my 94, it's all about the offset which any wheel dealer will order you the right ones. I say go with the 9.5" all the way around then you can rotate and you get awsome traction while cornering. Just my opinion though.
By the way I hope you also put a camber kit on or did an alignment after lowering it. Just want to check, so you don't go through those new tires prematurly.

I didn't put the camber adjustment kit on it, because i heard that it wasn't necessary with just that much drop. I will, however, watch the way the last few thousand miles wear on the factory Michelin 205/60-15's. If it wears funny, i'll order the camber adjustment kit.
You have 9.5" wide all the way around.... are you sure it's not 8.5" all the way around... because 8.5 is still big. what size tire are you running? can you post a picture of the car with the front wheel turned out so i can see how massive they are?
Thanks later. - Hey if anyone else sees SpeedFreak77, could you let him know that he has a question in this post?

Yeah no problem, I will take the pic tonight and post it. My car is on jack stands so I will do my best to get a good pic of the width. I am sure they are 9.5. When I post the pics I will post my tire size also.
I'm sure he'll post them in this thread.
Not all pictures need to be posted in the Accord Pictures thread. Just general pictures of peoples cars and motors go in there.
If it has some tech to go with it or if it's related to a topic then they can be posted in the applicable threads.

I will post them here. My batteries died on my camera when I was going to download the pics so I am going to pick up some more on my way home from work tonight and I will post them then.
Just wanted to let you know that I might not be able to load those pictures until tomorrow. But I will try as soon as possible.
Id like to see your 9.5 also. That thing must be crazy looking, is it even flush with your car and does it rub?
ive seen those hyper blacks on a 5th gen silver lude and they looked awesome so those should look the same on that...on the other hand get ur car aligned soon man or else u will end up ruining the tires!!!
Sorry it's been so long I have been having some issues with the digi. May be the software. Pic's don't want to download to the computer for some reason. I am gonna try it at work this week hopefully before New Years's. Didn't forget about it.
I just ordered some ACE Impact a204 17x7 wheels to hold me off until I get some 18" wheels. Once I get My 18's, I'll prob just use these on long trips with the fam.

What do you guys think of the way they look? And then on a big 7th Gen Sedan (silver)?
They're not my favorite at all, but they were only $280 for all 4 shipped to the door. They only weigh about 19lbs each. My friend works at Moss Motors (BMW section) and someone just traded in a 330i sport with some 225/45-17 Michelin Pilot something or others on it. The tire are in great shape to me, but to Moss, they couldn't sell a car with tires in that bad of shape, so they charged the customer full price for some new ones (on trade in), and probably got the new ones at a discount, and I got the old ones for FREE!
. I am so stoked. Check it out:

Then search for the 225/45-17 for Michelin only and the cheapest one is around $150 each. Plus S&H, and Tax (they ship out of Louisiana).
The following is very Important to me:
Tell me what you guys think of this wheel (18x8)? How do you think they would look on My Accord? Please give reasons for thoughts... don't just say "cool wheels" or "don't like them" Say "Don't like them because the spokes are to thin for the size of the car, it will take away from the luxury look" or "I like the sharp angles of the spokes because it will bring out the angles of the car".... or something to that effect. Be creative and honest, Think about it before you comment, I want some good input. Also, ask your friends and tell other members to comment too. Thank you guys, I really appreciate it.
