Default What to look for when buying a swap

In a few days, the Odyssey and I are going to Canada to osaka, to buy a swap.
I d15b because I am in NY, known for robberies, and if my car does in fact get jacked, I could care less. Anyways, can anybody give me an insight on things to look for to make sure that the engine I get is as good as possible?
I want to know sensors that should be good, etc
thanks
This might have been asked before, but I searched, and what a pita, i got all kids of posts.
Also I got a CX, does anybody here do the wiring that anybody can refer me to?
Also will my cx axles bolt up to the d15b tranny
thanks a lot guys
bump this up

What kind of swap are you looking for?
D16? B16? B18? H22?

remove the valve cover and inspect the head. Golden brown coclor means the engine was maintained well. If there are black tar looking stuff inside, the previous user rarely change oil and may have overheated several times. Also do a compression test. Inspect the parting line of the head and block for oil leaks.
check the harness and sensors too.

Is the motor still in the car. If it is, that would be great. Then just keep everything on it that you can.

Otherwise just try to be sure all the major parts are there.

Have them do a compression and leakdown test infront of you. Also look at the oil pan for any weldings. If you see a welding towards the front of the oil pan but at the top then the motor was probably boosted which is never good.

Also make sure the wiring harness isnt cut and **** like that. Alot of H-T members had bad experience with Osaka Motors.

yeah i know a lot of people had bad experiences but its because when you live so far away, and want to save money, you order from the cheapest. Unfortunately, it happens, but if I go there and buy it face to face, which I know a lot of ht members had a good experience with, then i am content, because if its f$ucked up, its partially my fault. I've heard if you go there face to face, your chances of getting a shitty motor are slim to none
