Default Transmission swap

Alright, I just got a fairly new '02 civic 4dr DX

Its my first car and I wanted an automatic transmission just to get used to driving. However, in a couple years I want a manual. I don't really want to go buy a whole new car because this is a real reliable car. I was mainly wondering if there was any way i could replace the engine/transmission with possibly a VTEC or rebuilt engine w/ turbo and a manual tranmission. Question is if that is possible and/or worth the money?

What would I need to do it?

aight thanks
