HELP: i can't get a full tank of gass
yup, when i get a fill up, its never to the "F" position, rather its at one click away. Also, i usually get 240 miles on 1 tank, now i barely can get 200. whats going on? anyone else have this problem?
Are you using a particular gas pump? some cut off early. Just keep filling it until gas hits your shoe
(kidding, but you don't HAVE to stop filling when it automatically clicks off...some do it prematurely)

I think u have a problem of pulling out to early!!!!hehe lol stupid cut off on gas pumps suck *** lol keep filing to the next dollar or so or keep filling till the pump keeps repeatly shuts off as soon as u sequeze the handle or back it out some then keep pumping. lol are u FEMALE????? lol trying to tell somebody how to use a gas pump sheeshhhhssss. Could only be a female question!!!
In addition to what all the others have said, double check the condition of your gas cap, and your gas tank itself. My friend once complained of the same problem, he had a double wammy. Bad gas cap (didn't keep pressure), and on top of that, he had ran over something and dented his gas tank. We drained it, then used an air compressor and it popped the dent out, and he then could fill another 2 gallons in it. So it might be worth checking.

What does a dent in the gas tank have to do with the fuel indicator gauge? Wouldnt it still read full if there is gas in the tank?

yes........I've heard of this before........seems like you suffer from pre-mature egassulation.........insert the male gas nozzle end into the female end of your car and pump repeatedly until you are sure its full.......if you feel the pump bust a nut....don't worry.....you are protected......keep going
If it was dented in half a gallon, it would still read full because the actual fuel is being displaced by the dent.
1. Either the float in the tank is sticking.
or
2. Your guage is sticking.

The dent would explain the lower fuel capacity... the guage could be a related voltage drop due to impact or damage to the sender pendulam...
I know the dent alone won't effect the sender, unless it's dented from the top.
Sorry for the confusion..
