Match clutch to engine or tranny?
hey guys. im doin a swap on my buddys hatch. and his engine and tranny are from 2 diffrent. model cars. what clutch does he get the one to match the engine or the one to match the tranny?

True, but different trans have different splines. All 94+ have the same splines (B-series).
But if he has a 91 LS trans and uses a 94 b-series clutch, it will not work. Different splines.

Any D series tranny will bolt to any D series motor. If the clutch fits the tranny it will fit the motor so the answer to your question is:
The tranny. Match the clutch to the tranny.
Keep in mind 88 trannies use 21 spline shafts and 88-89 have a smaller clutch disk and flywheel so these will have to match also.

RICEY....cmon man....you know he has to match the clutch to the TRANNY!!! what if he has a 89 4 speed tranny but has a d16z6 engine.....he'll have the wrong clutch for the car mang....
