Default Compression, 91 octane and Pinging?

Any of you guys in Ca run a high cr (11.2 or higher) using 91 octane and still get pinging? My comp is at around 11.1-3 and pinging is really bad. I've tried different gasoline 76, Chevron, Shell and with some octane boost and it still bad. Even retarded timing to 12 degrees and it still pings. Im thinking it may be because of the Skunk program? Anyway, any help or suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.

What kind of pistons?

With 11.4:1 compression I had no pinging whatso ever on 91 octane and 17 degrees timing. Endyn pistons, but with big cams (lots of overlap which reduces compression)

Ill be at 12:1 CR tomorrow...hopefully it wont ping.

Try using your stock ecu or another ecu. 76 has 100 octane, but I know couple of people running about the same compression with no problems. If all else fails keep retarding the timing and visit dynospot.

10 degrees timing? How much power is your car making? What gas (octane) are you using?

You can find 100 octane gas at certain 76 stations. I just want to say that 91 octane sucks. Give me back my 92!
