no oil pressure in head = no vtec someone help
hey guys just finished putting my motor back together once again. i had the machine shop put the head all together . but now i;'m not getting enough oil pressure at vtec spool mechanism to engage v tec. i dont know whats going on.. are there any freeze plugs in block that he may have forgotton to put in?? the solonoid seems to be working and so does the pressure gauge. but not enough pressue to kick in vtec

stupid question, but did you jump the vtec sol. when checking pressure to the vtec oil port?
did you check it with engine rpms over 3k?

yeah did all that.. and still get 0. i even removed the oil pressure sender at spool mechanism and i get like 0 ... i dont know whats wrong

there is a dowel with an o-ring that goes underneath the center cam cap on all vtec b series motors that provides a restriction to allow enough oil pressure to push the pistons that engage the vtec lobe. if thats not installed or installed improperly vtec will not engage. not sure about h series though. just my .02 you said you found the problem, but in the past ive found that to be an issue with vtec not engaging.
