Default new tranny or rebuild?

So my transmission grinds and it pops out of 3rd and second gear. I recently changed the fluid and the grinding and poping out has subsided, but it still exists. I am assuming that the syncros are shot and it has been brought to my attention that you need to take out the whole tranny to replace them anyway so i should just go with a new one. I have a 99 ex, and i am thinking of a better transmission (ls, gsr, type r?. Would it be worth it/would it bolt right up? thanks.

you can only use another D series transmission, the EX transmission is the best one out there.
