replacing 2nd gear in 99 ex tranny
i unfortunately have to do a 2nd gear in my tranny. just wanted to know how much this may cost me of course appx. b/c im prob gonna take it some where. i just want a ballpark b/c i cant sleep tonight . i got fucked on a sale, and im sour right now

Well if the tranny is out of the car you're in better shape b/c there won't be labor for removing the tranny. But they still have to open the tranny, remove both gearsets, remove the gears, replace the gears, and reassemble everything. Most shops are roughly $70/hr for shop time, and I would guess somewhere around 3-4 hours. Not saying it will take them that long, but that's what they might charge you for. I've heard some shops have some type of a guide that tells them how long certain jobs take, and they charge off of that, regardless of how long it really takes.
Sorry for the long-winded answer. In the end, it could be upwards of $250 for labor to replace the gears, and that doesn't include parts. Most EX trannies go for around $250. How much did you pay for the tranny? I'd almost just say scrap it and try again. HTH.
