Default B series swap and header clearence question

I'm going to swap in a B16a2 and cable tranny into my 90 CRX, my friend told me that with that motor in, I would have to get a different radiator in order to accomodate an aftermarket header. Is this true, if so what are my options for a radiator that looks good, is funtional and can handle the cooling duties on this motor. With that said, what are my header options??

I have a 91 hatch w/ a B18c5 and I was told the hood would clear the valve cover......well it did. There should be no reason why you would anything extra except a hood...maybe. It should all drop in just fine

Your friend doesn't know what he's talking about. The only time you'll have a clearance issue in the front is with a 4-1 header, and then the only thing in the way is the front crossmember, not the radiator. Now a turbo might need some special consideration...

he was talking header clearance not hood clearance.

your friend is wrong about the radiator, but pretty much no header made for a b16a will clear the x member of a ef, you are going to have to "notch it a little bit, its no biggy!

DC 4-1 Tons of room with the Rad.. But def had to get an aftermarket " in my case Z10 " Crossmember to fit it. Had to also notch the hood to clear the cylinder head of the B18C and I def dont recomend lower than stock ride height or your going to smash your header.. Looking into a diff 4-1 soon like SMSP or ANR for more clearance and HP.

Heres a pic or 2 showing the clearance.

I've had a DC 4-1 and a DC 4-2-1 on my B16 CRX and both headers cleared my thicker Fluidyne radiator with tons of room to spare. All you need to do is notch your OEM front crossmember or switch to a tubular front crossmember like Full-Race
