Default CTR Pistons on Eagle Connecting Rods.

I have a set of CTR pistons and Eagle rods sitting right now.. The rods seem a little think at the top where it connects into the piston.. It actually wont fit in. Has anyone expiremented with this? Can I just grind the top of the rods down a tiny bit to make it fit?

You need abuut .040-.050 thou clearance on each side and some circlip grooves, is all.

I understood the part on the clearance .040-.050.. But what the hell are circlip grooves?

Not to be a smartass, but ask your engine builder.

As far as I know, OEM pistons will not work with aftermarket rods,....but you can put aftermarket pistons on OEM rods. That's from my experience.

circlips is a grove in the piston so u can install a C-clip in there to keep the wrist pin from sliding out of the piston and rod assembly. i dont think u can press wristpins onto aftermarket rods. u need circlips to keep the wristpins attached to the pistons and rod
