i have the ability to swap trannies with my brother who has a brand spanking new type r tranny in his 600 WHP turbo B17A powered civic......he wants my gs-r tranny with 35,000 miles on it..................now i'm going turbo soon
but ill keep it reasonably boosted at like 350 hp.................so should I get it or keep the gs-r for better turbo gearing??????????

I'd go with an LS tranny because it has longer gears so you can stay in boost longer.
GSR's and Type r's are too short.
This question is better suited for the FI forum.

Get the ITR tranny now and when you go turbo sell the R tranny and get an LS trans and a good LSD for it.
Also, could we get more info on your bro's 600whp Civic and his engine times. What kind of 1/4 mile times is he running?

i think you better post some mod lists and some dyno sheets for any of us to believe the 600 hp civic, well at least for me anyway......definitely would like to be enlightened on this one.......
Yea you should go with LS tranny because of the long gear ratio and your boost last longer, but for all motor go with a Type R tranny just because it has LSD and GSR doesn't

I know the LS tranny will keep you in boost longer, but does it actually make the car faster?? I mean, it seems like longer gears are longer gears, regardless of HP or turbo/NA. Am i wrong, or do people just like the LS tranny because it takes longer to go through the gears?
