but yeah, you can get synchromesh from o'reillys or autozone. it should be around $5 per quart and you're going to need about 2 quarts, but i'll get 3 just in case.
you're going to have to get underneath the car to do this, and best to buy a little pump to pump the fluid into the tranny.
once your underneath the car look on the side of the tranny facing the passenger wheel. you should be able to see 2 different looking bolts than the rest of them. The one on the top is the filler hole (where you fill the fluid up at), and the bottom one which has a square middle thingy is the drain hole (where you drain the fluid).
Best way to do it is first see if you can remove the filler bolt first, because you wouldn't want to get stuck with a drained tranny and you can't get the filler bolt off to refill it. A little bit of fluid should come out once you get the filler bolt off, then next thing get the drain bolt out (FYI fluid comes out pretty far).
Let it sit for a while to get it mostly drained, then put the drain bolt back on. Get your pump and stick the end of the tube into the filler hole and start pumping. Keep pumping until the fluid reaches the filler hole, just enough where a little bit comes out. The filler hole is the level of the amount of fluid you're suppose to have in there. After that put the bolt back on and you're set! You usually don't feel any difference right away, it took me the next day to really feel the smoothness.

That sounds like changing the tranny fluid. Are they both the same or is the synchromesh an additive?? =P
I would've searched but since this thread was on this subject, I thought I'd ask anyway. My fault if it gonna cause any flames. hehe

haha..synchromesh is a tranny fluid, not an additive. most people get the GM synchromesh fluid, but i couldn't find any except for the Pennzoil synchromesh. I'm not sure if they're both the same or not buy the guy at o'reillys told me their almost basically the same stuff. I went to a couple of auto stores looking for the GM brand but no luck. Only Pennzoil =/

Just so you know, synchros are what get your clutch and tranny to play nicely. If you ever lose a synchro, you'll know it. If you ever lose a drop bearing, you'll know it. And if it's time to replace your tranny fluid... well you do know it.
My advice is to take it to Jiffy Lube. You said you just got the car right? And you probably have no idea when the last time the fluids were done? It'll cost a little more. But I'd recommend having them drain the old stuff, then flush the tranny, and then put in whatever you want. There's really no reason to do your own fluids. Those places carry their own full syn oils. And to be totally honest, how much of a difference do you think there is between Redline and Mobil and Penzoil? I'll tell you the difference... Adam Sawaratari uses Redline... because that's who sponsors him and he gets it for FREE. So Adam is going to say, "Use Redline. I do!"
Peace.

The penzoil syncromesh is what you want. It the same as gm syncromesh but way cheaper.

well, the car was services regularly at jiffy lube before I bought it, but I did use GM synchromesh, it just made it worse, I went back to jiffy lube and got me regular 10-30. I m just double clutching for now to avoid the grind into 5th gear. I dunno why we r makin hella deal outta this grind. I used to have cars that grind all the time at several gears and they last forever. All what im asking , Does double clutching wont hurt it anymore and can I live with that for while [with double clutching , no grind] . im takin my car tomorrow to ATSI transmission place in Lawrence KS, to gimme quote how much it cost to replace the synchros ,....
