Good luck! Im learning Autocad2004 and Im in my junior year into an applied physics degree. Hope to get a masters in ME after I get done. Full-Race is in AZ...so it might be a change of weather for ya. You know how to TIG weld like a god?
not a clue, although im actually doin some hands on stuff now.....I do mostly structual design for the firm i work for now, bridges and walls for mass transit and state highway administration in the mid-atlantic region.....although i have designed a few automotive things on cad in my free time....just dont have the time or money to actually build it
i got my assoc. degree in cad and i just started my me degree so i figure another 3 years of education...yeppie!

Most shops that design and manufacture there products will use a CAD-CAM system like Mastercam or Gibbs cam. These have most everything autocad or velium have but will also spit out a program to a cnc machine. If you have the cad skills you should be able to learn a system like Mastercam once you understand the basics of wht it takes to manufacture a part. This is not as hard as it might sound but The solid modeling stuff on Mastercam is the hardest for guys like me to learn. So a background with cad would be helpfull.
