Need good machine shop in CT?
Im trying to use the planned shop of choice which is Carlquist Competition Engines but i keep getting pushed back. I know they do good work and have seen it first hand but i may go elsewhere if i can find a shop worthy enough to do high quality work. So if anyone can recommend shops that are proven to have good work please leave the name and number if you have it handy so i can try to get this done.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Need good machine shop in CT? (PHiZ)
i used Eastwoods over in Somers, CT for my machine work. they seem to do a lot of domestic work but i always saw honda blocks and heads floating around. anyways, they are friendly and did some good work for me. give them a call.

Thanks guys, I will look at those 2 shops and see how things are im 20 minutes outside the hartford area so both places are not far. I really dont need much machine work other than the head since the block was done already and i just want it all cleaned up.
Thanks for the fast replys.

I went down to see him today and i was pleased with his setup and what he showed me in the shop. Im bringing my engine down tomorrow so thank you for the referral Ryan. And his pricing is much better than Carlquist the only good thing about that shop is i know their work is good seeing how my friends used them in the past but there time tables don't work for me.
Thanks again im glad i asked!

alot of **** was bein said about ne on thepike.net. im goin to freds machine shop in bethel. greta work, good prices and most **** is done in a couple days. me and my friends do our own work so when we need our blocks bored and honed or whatever. he gets it done. PIP is another good shop but they take a while to do work. neither sleeve motors to my knowledge tho.

Re: (KraZEtEggIE)
NE machine shop does great work and I can vouch for mike. I sold one of his built block to H-T member and he has no problems what so ever. I ran the block and had no problems. I was the first one to get my block sleeved by mike two years ago and never had any problems with sleeves but has problems with lightened crank. We swapped out the lightened crank to factory crank and no problems. Mike been doing Honda sleeves for almost 2 years and no one had any problems. Its like GE had problems with their sleeves dropping. Mike has perfected his sleeving and can sleeve B16,B18, and H22's. Pretty soon u will see a high HP car running around CT and motor is done by Mike.

Re: (Turbocivic94)
I was pleased to see most of the stuff their was all Honda and he had a beutiful B18 full turbo setup freshly finished and looked awesome. But he even took the time to show me blocks that were in the middle of getting sleeved and he said he sleeves all his blocks. But im glad to hear good things as it looked good but the true test is when you run the engines.
Oh and he is located in Hartford CT on whethersfied ave all the way in the back of Napa and the body shop.

id love to head up to see Mike at NE automachine sometime.. he wants me to get my car dynoed and send some picture of it so he can put it up in the shop and on his website he was working on.. but with being busy all summer working and tryin to buy a house i havne had the time of money to get much done w/ the car except a mild street tune so i can drive it work and back..
it took him a little longer to get my block done but it was a busy time of the year and there was a slight problem w/ one of the sleeves not holding (i forget how what he said now) but anyways, he ended sleeving another block for me that he at his shop and basically give it to me for no charge..

Mike is good about taking care of customers. He will go the extra mile to have a happy cutomer. He takes his time installing everything so there are no errors. Come down and chill with us.
