i cant get my hood open
my goddamn hood latch cable has disconnected it self from the mechanism under the hood. i am supposed to begin my motor swap in a few hours.
any suggestions?

why is it that if i help someone with a motor swap in thier car it practically jumps right into the engine bay, but when i do something to my car, its a ******* catastrophy. my first motor swap was surrounded by similar circumstances
i can see the part of the latch that slides side to side and i can move it with a screw driver but it is not popping up.
the cable has come loose at the latch not inside the cab

LOL...you don't want to hear about my teg then! I just went to put on a adjustable rear control arm on my integra and one bolt is frozzen. After it finally starts turning, the insert in the frame snaps loose. $300 bodyshop fix to be able to put a new thread insert in the frame. (had to cut a hole in the trunk to get to the frame)

Is it possible that when you move the latch with a screwdriver and it is not popping up is because you need to pull up on the hood at the same time? Just my 2 cents. I hope I am right, though.

i will put it on a lift after work and see what i can come up with.

marauder,
i have been in that boat before. when i did my rear brake conversion i did it in a friends driveway. the camber on my car was all screwed and and i couldnt figure out why. i later found out that the rear trailing arm was bent but at the time i just assumed that i was doing it wrong. so i took off the upper control arm and put it back on about a dozen times. well, it was getting late i was blocking my frieds dads drive way and he was getting pissed because he had some appointment to go to. in a last desperate attempt i put it back together again (it was dark by now)
and my friends dad gets frustrated and he taked the rachet from me and muscles the upper control arms back on. a couple days go by and i find out that he stripped the **** out of it and i have to helicoil it.
when i work on other peoples cars it's like the clouds part and jesus christ himself descends on a diamond covered chariot handing out chocolates and teddy bears.
but when its my own car... well lets just say that i am starting to think that jesus is must be a nascar fan.
