with the compression you have your better off with either some type r/ civic type r cams or some skunk stage 1's. I have not tired the BC 3's yet but you might want to look into it.

Nay.

If you're going to put together something, research it first. Many threads that discuss it, even on the same page of this thread. Don't even need to search, just go down a few and find something similar.

yes most people here in htec say you will need more compression for the stage 2 yet i have not seen some dyno to prove this.

excactly what im saying. Many people say go with the stage 1 but this dyno plot sorta proved it wrong. I would like to see a comparison between the stage 1 and stage 2 with a stock compression on a gsr though.

I have ran stage 2's and stage 1's on my itr but the comression on it is 10.6 compared to a gsr is 10.1 If you are trying to do some mods to your car maybe save up a little more money and get pistions instead liek some p30's. You will get a much better bang for your buck

I say yay...you'll make more power no matter what. Go with S2S2's, you'll be fine with stock compression. Just save up money to bump up the compression later (thinner head-gasket, shaving the head etc). Go for it, you'll like the cams!

the reason why im going with stock compression is that because im from cali and smog is an issue. cams on the other hand are not a big of a deal since i can just swap in the gsr cams when its time to smog along with the stock settings.

with your setup, you'll be better off using stage 2, but you'll need to beef up your valvetrain a little bit, if you want your motor to last.

smog's an issue... all TYPE R parts will not hurt.

My B18c-r also loved the Skunk2 S2's on stock compression.

195hp 126tq, cam gears still at 0 with stock ECU.
