buddy of mine just told me hes gonna ask his gf to marry him...he has a TRD tacoma he wants to sell so he can buy a house with her...i was thinking get the truck and a trailor and tow my POS back and forth from the track...

ever since my drop was completed, i have been this headache of trying to pass smog...and i cant drive it on the streets till i do...so im thinking making it a trailor bitch i wont need to worry about that stuff...plus i can do what ever i want to it and not worry about stupid emissions bs...

originally i wanted a fast street car...but i want to go even faster now... ...and im thinking with the truck i can go to the snow and take my grandpa fishing since his POS bronco cant pass smog either...

do u guys know if i have to insure an off road vehicle?...its probably gonna be a drag car...since iv never tried autocross before(even tho it hella apeals to me)...

but i also think what use is a car if i cant drive it on the streets everyday...

what do u guys think?

 

I'd personally keep it as a street car....get the truck so you have a daily driver and keep the car....

 

That sounds cool, go for it. If you have the time and the money to make it happen then that would be cool. A friend of mine is turning his hatch into a full time drag car, he has his insured , but I don't know if it is a state requiremnt(law).

 

yea thing is cant afford to insure two cars on the street...im a full time student and work part time....ehhh im kinda 50/50 on the whole idea...iv just been waiting so long to get the car on the streets...damit im gonna move to nevada...hehe...well im gonna try this smog thing one more time before i make any decisions

 

When I bought my second car my insurance only went up a couple of dollars a month. I told them that one was my daily driver and the other wasn't going to be driven more than a few thousand miles per year. If you have your own insurance and aren't covered under someone elses policy then adding another car to your policy wouldn't make a huge difference. You can only drive one car at a time.

i agree with marked001. but anyways....no one hasnt asked this question. "What's wrong with your car.....how come its not passing smog?? what was the reading on the smog???sometimes....smog techinicians can bs with you saying something is wrong....and saying they'll fix that problem when there isnt any problem in the first place and charging you big $$$. i'd recommend go somewhere else that your confident about and get that baby back on the street. havnt sold out yet...i still got about a month and a half to do what ever i can to pass this bastard...even thinking about repairing and swaping back in the old motor...too bad the old motor is hella fached and i already sold the tranny...gonna have to get off my lazy *** and learn how to do it myself...cant be paying everyone to fix my **** for me....

iv thought about the whole trailor-hunden thing all day and iv decided that i will do as much as i can to keep it on the streets

is it that it wont pass visual inspection or it wont pass the actual test? if its the test lower your fuel pressure to like 25 pounds and put crappy 87 octane in it and drive it hard for like a hlaf hour before the smog and you should be able to pass!!
good luck and keep it on the streets so you can drive the truck for comfort then the rex for street racing and track !!
