break a motor in with conventional oil. once you start using synthetic, stay away from convetional. always use synthetic from that point on, until your engine dies.

synthetic oil, in nearly every aspect, is much better than conventional. why? because synthetic was designed in a lab to be better than conventional. the only bad thing about it is the cost. it's about twice as much as regular oil.

Synthetic is better than conventional...its more "slippery" so to say

You can go back to convetional oil after using synthetic, can't think of a reason why you couldn't

I've always heard/been told/read that switching back and forth from conventional to synthetic or vice versa is not a good idea. Once you select one, (except for break-in period with conventional, that's ok), that you should stick with it.

I've always heard it's not good to keep switching brands around, doesn't matter if it's synth or not. The additives don't always play nice with each other, even tho it's only a little bit that doesn't drain out. So try to pick a brand & stay with it.

Switching from one brand to another, or switching from synth to petro, is OK as long as you're not constantly going back & forth.

The whole myth behind this, is how your rubber gaskets in the engine are effected from switching between the two types of oils.
