Is It Hard To Remove A Steering Wheel With An Airbag?
This coming weekend, I am purchasing an Si/SiR leather wrapped steering without the airbag, the seller told me I would be able to use the airbag off of my old steering wheel ('99) on to the leather wrapped one. ('00) Is this true?
Is it difficult to swap airbags? Any precautions I should take before attempting this other than disconnecting the battery?
Thanks,
Fred

i think it's pretty straight forward, there is a few screws after you disconnect the battery and pop off the plastic piece on the sides of your stock wheel.
Disconnect negative side of battery for at least 5 minutes (according to Helms). You'll need a T30 torx bit to take out the airbag. Remove the plastic side panels and remove the airbag. Unclip all plugs. Take a 19mm socket to remove the nut (or bolt in some Honda cases). There's no need for a steering wheel puller. To prevent from busting your face when jerking the wheel, thread on the nut/bolt. Put hands at 11 and 5 or whatever feels comfortable and give the wheel a couple of hard jerks. To put the wheel back on, give the wheel a few pushes until it clips in. Reverse the steps to put everything back together.
