I got a 00 civic d16vtec. when I start it up it vibrates a lot more than usual and acts like its going to stall out on me. after it warms up it chills out a lil but still vibrates more than usual. the only mod is an intake and no the mounts arent broke. does anyone have any ideas? i searched and got "sorry 0 results found"

 

check ur injectors.....mine did the same and i wiggled them this morning and noticed one was broke....i changed it and it no longer vibrates or studders when driving

 

if they were dirty would it act the same?

 

also if the valves arent adjusted right would it cause it to vibrate all crazy?

 

It could be a number of things. You definitely need to start at the bottom and most obvious and cheap, then work your way up.

Check:

Spark Plugs.
Ignition Wires.
Coil.
Injectors.
Any harness unplugged.
Any CEL that came up.

If you did a valve adjustment, did you do it right? Did you use the OEM-spec lash clearances for intake and exhaust sides?

have you used any additive to your fuel system?

 

no additives and I had a mechanic do the valves. Ill check around real good in the engine bay. cel?

Adjust the idle.

 

make sure the engine is in correct timing and make sure your dist. is firing in the correct order. Get a fuel pressure gauge and make sure your not lossing pressure after the car starts. Good luck

 

fork over the $8 for some new spark plugs.

 

I would say do a compression test and make sure your not losing pressure in the cylinders.

if not, it is probably missing cylinders as it fires. Spark plugs, distributor, all of that ****.
