Default 86mm street/strip B18C5motor, how reliable?

Anyone run an 86mm bore in their street car? (B18C5 or similar) How reliable is this setup? I've heard there are issues with cooling and sealing.

With a 86mm bore your really not leaving any room for any rebuild later on down the road. And yes headgasket sealing issues might arise, even though some people have been known to use some kinda of sealent, but if your willing to build a monster like this hopefully you will stray away from that.

I'll let you know in 3-4 weeks once i get my 86mm block finished. If you have proper machined deck surfaces on the head/block, and torque the head to the block properly with head studs and use copper spray on the headgasket, there shouldnt be any issues.

Thanks for your input. I'm at 85mm now and need to bore it out to take out some scratches. I'd like to avoid sleeving the motor again.
