eg civic cx rpm ,speed and header/exhaust
I just installed a eg si cluster into my cx. I notice my tach is a little off but im not sure. It say I idle at around 600rp. Is that normal or should it be at 900??. also what is your rpm on 2nd gear while going 25mph. my is hitting 2000rpm. I also notice my rev limiter kicks in around 6000rpm on my tach. what is the 94 hb cx set to?? My redline should be at 6500 if i remember correctly.
my 2nd question is
im planning to get an exhaust system ( http://www.robearracing.com/pd...0.cfm) for my cx. If i wanted to get a high flow cat. Would I need a new header since the stock isnt in the same place as the other models. Also would I be able to still use this exhaust for my b16a swap when summer comes.

You are correct about your redline being 6500 for the d15b8. Your tach may be slow, so it will seem to redline early. This is common w/ OEM tachs. What gear did you redline in (the faster the needle is moving the worse it's off)?
Your recomended idle setting is under your hood (on the sticker), and you should adjust it accordingly.
As for your exhaust, don't bother with the cat until after you swap the motor (total waste of time), unless you can get a free D series header (which you will need). I would suggest getting your exhaust, and having the underside "cat" gap bridged w/ a custom straight pipe.

buy the exhaust when you get the swap
the exhaust you should get is for a civic si or dx hatch. get the high flowing cat also. yes you will need a header too, thats why i said get an engine swap before getting exhaust. i picked up my d16z6 for cheaper than most exhausts anyway
your idle is fine 600 in the cx is normal, but i would get rid of that motor fast. 2nd gear haha yea i remember having that motor. what a bad tranny. it made driving stick more like driving automatic.

yea the tranny and motor sucks but it will do the job until i get it swap this spring or summer
i kind of still want the exhaust now if i dont buy it now i probably end up buying some other ****
what headers would i need anything from the dx or si hb?
