Default EG CX with Si Cluster - Tach Reading is way off - inaccurate

I have a CX with an Si tach and the tach is way off. I mean its reading 4500 rpm when Im hitting redline. Its about 30% off the whole range. Is there any way to adjust it or am i screwed>?

try to pry the needle back some, mine used to do this aswell, until i took a flathead and pryed it away from the face a little bit.

i have no idea what that would do, except bent or break the needle. are you sure it worked?

it might be where the needle is pressed against the face too much

or someone might have taken the needle off prior to you having it, and installed it incorrectly
