when i go in reverse it makes a loud screeching sound....what would it be....also my tranny makes a noise at idle but when i push in the clutch it is quiet....i think its the throwout bearing...thanx for your help

 

The noice in reverse.. Does it sound kind of like a remote control car? If so it is normal..

Is the sound the tranny making a horrible grinding noise? Most likely the throwout bearing..

 

Whine in reverse is normal

Squeak when you press in the clutch is normal

And i love that damn squeak.. He's not talking about that though. The tranny makes a noise UNTIL he pushes the clutch in. Then it stops. Sounds like a throw out bearing to me.
