you will need the whole front clip from the front to b pillar. and rest of the rear of your existing car. then go find a good body shop. this way will save you a lot of time and money.

actually what people are doing is just cutting out the firewall, and rewelding the rhd firewall in its place. but you still need a rhd front clip.

i did it with welding on a clip , the bad part about doing the firewall is the front cross member and rear crossmember are from 90-93 integra, which also makes the clip alil wider which caused a few problems but worked out nicely, plus if you just do firewall swap your rear crossmember wont fit from the rhd clip, and youll have to use after market mounts, so even if you could use the rhd rear crossmember your after market rear mount will not fit meaning all your mounts will not line up. best things to do is find a real good collision or framing shop and get them to weld on a front clip for you.if you need help finding the parts or anymore info you can aim me at crxsirb16a1 later

ps dont let that post with the integra rhd conversion scare you , doing the weld on clip is alot !!!! easier i just cut the front of my car off and welded the clip on , took 2 days and i was driving the car!

yeah i believe getting the whole front clip would be the cheapest and easiest way to do this... try http://www.jdmtheory.com or http://www.passwordjdm.com

Not to be an ***, but wouldnt that be less safe then just taking the firewall? Like the guy did with integra, the body and frame are exactly the same. Get a front clip and take everything off and put it onto your car. All you will need is the firewall and everything attached, the sub-frame, the wiring harness, and all other major components.

I think if it was up to me I would do the firewall, that way you dont mess with the structural integrity of the car. Regardless of how many people say I'm wrong, the firewall isnt gonna do **** for you if your in a collision.

I appreciate all of the comments and suggestions, but the way im going to do it, is by getting a eg6 front clip, cutting out the firewalls, and swapping them, but my main question is(which i guess would be best for the guy on here that did the itr conversion), is what exactly is ALL the parts i will need off teh clip, as in, the poeple i am ordering it from said tell them everyhting i dont need, and they will hook me up with a GOOD price. Here is what i think i will need:
Firewall, master cylinders, dash, cross memeber, everything for the dash, dash wiring harness, engine wiring harness

i know there is more, here is what i am wondering about, brake lines, JDM or USDM?, is there anymore of the harness besides teh dash and engine that i will need.

But other than that let me know EXACTLY what i am missing, WHAT ALL EXACTLY(down to the last part) will i need to do this conversion.

And also, will i have any porblems with my motor mounts by doing it the way i want with just swapping the firewalls?

thanks alot, and i hope you guys can help me more.

just buy a right hand drive car and swap the vins, not legal but cheaper than the alternative. and you get all the jdm goodies.

that way it wont be another hack job

well first off...
bravo to you, i think its really cool you want to aim higher than a lip and rota's. I would love to do a rhd conversion except i want to go into racing with my car and im worried about structer of the car.

I can't really give you any advice other than try to got things down on paper, talk to people about it, make a drawing or two, etc.. try to look at this problem in many diffrent ways. Good luck mang

ohh and yea, i would'nt cut thye cars front end off, go small first, firewall, subframe, cutting into the frame is

Yeah, im just tryig to get a detailed list of everything that i will need the clip to come with.

I still plan to race the car, as long as its done right, the firewall doesnt have anything to do with the integrity of the car

hey jeremy contact these guys:

American Right Hand Drive Conversions, LLC

440-949-1362

there located in Cleveland, OH and they specialize in RHD conversions. They usually convert trucks/vans that are going to be used for mail delivery in rural areas but, maybe they could help you out. Plus, they offer a warranty.

I bet your going to have a hard time finding a shop around here that wants to do it or even if they do I bet its gonna be more than you would want to spend.

Good luck on finding something. I'd be scared to do it!!

chris

:edit: oh yeah, and about Gene's body shop doing it, they closed down.

i say cutting out the firewall and switching it out for the RHD firewall is the way to go...once u start getting into cutting the frame and pillars...then thats where u start messing with the structural dependability of ur car...and thats kinda risky

Thanks alot chris, i know genes did shut down, but i used to deliver paint for them, they didnt technically close, the guy that worked for gene names kevin daws, bought the shop out from gene, gene didnt want to be the owner anymore, they moved over by my old work colormatch, in a little nicer of a building, and kevin, which is who is going to do the work, is very good with body work, so i know he will be able to do, i just wnated to know when i call the people i am getting my clip from what all i need to be on it, so i dont have to mess around with ordering spare parts afterward, thanks though, i will give them a call

I'd say its a good bet you'll need the RHD throttle cable, pedals, and hard brake lines as well.
