Default Did I damage my clutch/tranny? Please help me diagnose...

I made a few runs at the track tonight. Well, it was hella cold and I got ZERO traction in 1st and 2nd. So I held 2nd out for a little while then went into third. Well when I went into 3rd I had my foot to the floor but nothing happened, the rpms started dropping before my eyes. The mph gauge started kinda going up and down, just acting weird. Then I got this HORRIBLE smell in the cabin, traced it to the tranny. Everything seemed a o.k. on the ride home. What do you think happened? Sorry I dont post much but I dont know very much about clutch/tranny.

Bump because when your clutch slips I thought rpms go up and your speed goes down?
