Default idle problems

when i turn on the dash lights, headlights, heater, or even touch the brake pedal my idle drops 200 - 300 rpms. its not enough to stall it, but its very anoying. just replaced alternator so im wondering what it is... also when i touch the gas the rpms will drop about 400 rpms and the kick up and aceelerate, also annoying. any ideas suggestions welcomed tia

ok vacuum lines is causing the dropping idle when i press the gas...? if so what about the headlights and brake lights making the idle drop. oh yeah, i just changed the engine and transmission ground to a bigger 4 gauge battery cable, problem is still there

ok i think the drop in rpms is caused by vacuum lines, but what would explain the dim headlights/idle drop when heater or brakes are on?

recheck the tension on your belts. it sounds like your iac is not working properly. reset your base idle by unpluging the iac while the car is on. turn the screw that on your t-b out until the idle is about 1000 rpm and plug back the iac and check the base idle . should be 700 +- 50

Wow, 1000? never seen it explained that way. I have been led to believe you unplug the P2, then set it to 750+-... hmm.
