E-brake light
To start off, i did search, only yielded one result that wasn't quite the same problem for a 5th gen. I have a 92 Si and as of last week whenever I corner (not very hard, it only takes a moderate turn), or accelerate heavily, my e-brake light will come on for a second or two, I've tried holding down the brake as I do this and the light still flickers. Could my brake fluid be low? Anyone else experienced this? Thanks
Educate me on this if you would, but is the E-brake light connected with the brakes and master cylinder or is it just for the actual hand-brake? If it is just the hand brake, you should only need to adjust the switch...
if he's talking about the one on the dash, pretty sure its just the handle, probably just needs to replace the sensor, or adjust the e-brake. or the "brake lamp" light is on/off and you have a bulb with a filament only touching randomly.

The "brake" indicator light alerts you that your parking brake is on (or at least the sensor is grounded so it thinks it's on, could be a bad sensor on the e-brake), but it also alerts you if your brake fluid is low. I'd check the fluid 1st (6 seconds) then the pads, then the switch</TD></TR></TABLE>
You're right about the sensor and the fluid, which is probably his problem.
But on a 92 si, I'm pretty sure there is no sensor for the pads,
I've had them completely worn down and that light never came on

my 93 had this problem....
it was the ebrake handle, sliding up when i accelerated. the light will come on before that first little "click" on the handle anyways, so there is some free movement that happens when the car moves. whenever i would just accelerate off of a stop light it would come on, i had to tighten the ebrake a little. fixed it

No one said there is a sensor for the pads per say. As your pads get thinner they allow the piston to travel further out of the brake caliper. When this happens your brake fluid level lowers as there is more fluid in the caliper to compensate. When he replaces his pads he'll need to push the piston back in and that will raise his fluid level in the resevoir. </TD></TR></TABLE>
good point

Ok, wow, thanks for the input, didn't expect this many replies. I went out and checked and it did look like my fluid was lower than it should be. So would I just get the right fluid (I think the cap recommended DOT 3) and top off, or would I have to drain the fluid that's in there? I know just about nothing regarding brakes, so any help is appreciated, thanks.
thats probably not your only problem and its more than likely not the end of it, make shure u arent leaking regularly because my leak started slowly and brake fluid would leak from a crack in the master cylinder into the power booster and if i started braking hard and then accelerate i would burn the brake fluid.....so u may need a new master cylinder so make shure to get ALOT of wd-40
This happened to me on my 5th gen prelude. I bought the car not knowing the brakes needed to be changed and my light came on because i was grinding through the roders. Its a costly fix if you dont check it soon.
