make sure there are no two gaskets on the surface, sometimes the old one gets stuck.

is the gasket missing. also do you have the right sized oil filter to mate to the block.

Meaning there are no chips or gouges on the surface that the rubber ring touches? if the surface is fine and the threads are fine, you're left with a problem with your oil filter itself. Make sure you are oiling the rubber ring before threading it on and make sure you don't over tighten it or it will deform the rubber ring. Not all Honda filters are the same size, but most are the same. The OEM filters have been changed to a much smaller body but the thread and rubber ring size are the same. Make sure you are using an OEM filter until you get to the bottom of the problem, and try more than one filter incase the filter itself is leaking.

Nope. Legend has a larger thread in the middle.

Its not the oil filter. Its the oil pressure sender above the filter. Its either really loose, or its not even there. I learned this one the hard way.

Yeah, the Legend filter has larger threads and a larger gasket area.

Don't forget the Insight filter, which is like 2" by 3". So cute!
