URGENT: Oil Filter Gasket Seal broken
I was changing my girlfriends civic and I did everything step by step. After I put in Oil, I started the engine to let the oil circulate then i heard a crunch type sound. So I go back and I noticed the oil filter gasket that lays between the block and the oil filter (not the gasket on the new oil filter) is loose.
goes like this: engine block | rubber gasket | oil filter.
Since the rubber gasket is loose, it is hard to realign the oilfilter + rubber gasket. Is there any way i can remedy this? Do i need to take it to a shop or do i need to put some glue on the rubber gasket so it stays on the engine block? need help soon b/c she needs the car tonight. Thanks a lot.

There is no oil filter gasket on the block. Only on the filter.
I would take the filter off and make sure the gasket from the old filter didn't stick to the block.

I am retarded. I've changed oil many times and this is a first. The old oil filter gasket came off and stuck itself to the engine block. I couldn't see it originally and after the problem happened, I thought there was an OEM gasket in between the engine block and the oil filter. After being confused for 2 hours, it ended up being the old oil filter's gasket that stuck to the engine block. thanks for your help
