99 prelude 5spd transmision
my prelude has 49000 miles on it. the transmission seems to be a little bit more difficult to put into gear than it use to. when it's cold it doesn't like to go into 1st gear and when changinig gears it seems to click a little bit almost like it ground the geqar for just a fraction of a second. i just had the transmission fluid replaced is it just the tranny breaking in? i have an accord coupe that had a syncro go in third gear so i'm a little worried that this car may be on it's way
Has it had any clutch problems? From what you have said it could be that your clutch is going bad, which is kind of unusual for 49000 miles. Are there certain gears that it has trouble with or is it just a general problem through the gear box?
Kind of strange it gets better in cold weather normally it opposite.

Or just switch to synchromesh fluid but this is also a quick fix.

sorry i haven't been able to reply recently (holidays) the transmission definatley feels better in warmer weather. we had a few warm spells and it improved almost back to normal. i have had the clutch slip when burning out and then shifting to second. i'm not sure that it's a clutch problem though.
no my 98 lude does the same thing i have 60k, its just that the tranny gets alil tougher later on, btw is it hard to get into reverse sometimes and grind? mine does that. but ya just double cluth it and ull get into 1st fine, its not just cold temps when it does it

Basically that it is hard to direct the shifter into a certain gear, for instance the gear grinds or you will feel a resistance when trying too push/pull the shifter into a gear. Yes it takes extra force to go into gear from your arm (if it will go in at all).
