Default POLL: Help me out with a plan...

Aright, I have two ideas in mind. I am in the process of getting a CRX, and want to know what would be my best direction:

1.) Get a DOHC ZC motor, and use the left over money for upgrades and maybe even a turbo. Then save and eventually get the JDM B16A Gen-1. I want to be able to run mid-low 14s with I/H/E and a stage 5 lightening kit..

-OR-

2.) Just go ahead and save the extra money for the B16A, which would take a little more time to save the mo

if you want the B16 get the B16.

you won't be running mid low 14s with just i/h/e heck i was running high 14s low 15s with those mods on mine. not to say you can't because im not the best driver, but pushing for a 14.9 was tough enough. good luck.

A ZC zwap with boost will cost you one hell of a lot more then a B16 swap.
Go for the B16...and save up for a turbo anyway.

You don't think so even with the lightening kit. My boy took everything bumper support wise out of his car, said it weighed 1500lbs afterwards (whether that was with the motor or not I'm not sure). He has a WC with I/H/E and it seems pretty quick, but he hasn't ran it on the 1320 yet.

Well I was planning on boosting whatever I got...

BTW: the reason behind the ZC option was just to buy me some time...

I am in your exact same boat right now, and I chose to go the b16 route. here we have winter (VA has a good winter too if I'm not mistaken) and the civic is going to be parked for a few months, and during those months I'll just save for the b16. When march/april roll around, I'll be happy that I did. For me right now, rolling around on a d15b8 CX motor sucks bad, but it will be worth the wait.

I had this exact same delima as you. I posted the poll here is the link.

I put on there that I was going to go ZC, but that was before I saw my friends boosted b16 spanking everything. So in the Long run Im now saving for a B16 again.

You have a very good point. When I signed the title, I also kinda signed the death certificate for myself.

b16 all the way...so much fun watching people shake their head (double take) when under your hood it just starts making them feel a little uncomfortable next to you...best feeling ever.
