Default save a type r spare a gsr

With all these Rs being stolen, would cloning a gsr be the other alternative? I do not like the moonroof and the overall cost to modify a gsr to be a type r would not be cost effective, right?

your question is a bit hard to understand.

do you mean put all ITR parts on the GSR?

if so i guess you could, cost benifit is a personal preference when i comes to spending money on a car.

to some it would be worth it , and to some they would rather just have da R.

I see no benifit from making a GSR into a Type R. You would then own a GSR that you paid too much for and is now on the 'want to steel it' list. The only thing you'd be saving is the shell of the original donor Type R. I see no benifit.

this is very true.

however i think the PARTS would be safer in the GSR only for the fact of the major ITR thefts that have been going around.

its very sad that any car owner has to worry about theft no mattter what car he/she has.

you could start with an RS, they dont have a sun roof, there just a little hard to find. but if you want to make a Type R clone, you can make it look like a type R but there are alot of structural differences between the type r and the other integras.i think it would be easier making a type r look like a ls . at the last type r expo when my car was inline for the picture some guy that was counting the cars and stopped at mine and asked if it was a real type r, so after i seen that i realized almost anyone can be fooled.

An rs would have less expensive insurance, but my question is, would it be cost effective to clone a type r? Engine,5-lug,interior,etc..

And if someone were to put everything form an R in to a lessor body the insurance bastards would not pay up if the car was stolen unless you had extra insurance...

So the point is???

Well, some of you say not to buy an R if it might get stolen, I guess you guys are confused. I will buy a type R paint it blue, someone painted an R orange, and hope it stays alive. It will be my daily driver. In life you must take risks.

Certainly not cost-effecient. Not a good idea IMO, not to mention as previously stated there are structural differences that would stand in the way!
